San Diego Mac n' Cheese Fest
WWNL continues to host the very exciting annual San Diego Mac n’ Cheese Fest where incredible restaurants are showcased by engaging in a friendly culinary competition where judges and attendees selected the best Gourmet Mac n’ Cheese in San Diego! These restaurants were selected from the region’s top culinary talent.
Two awards are given out each year: Best Gourmet Mac n’ Cheese in San Diego (judged by an expert panel) and People’s Choice Best Mac n’ Cheese (popular vote). This year the 5th Annual Mac n' Cheese Fest will be held on October 26, 2019. |

Check Presented for CTE VUSD Student Logo Challenge
MVHS Freshman, Adelin Cornett, receives the top prize for the VUSD Career Technical Education Student Logo Challenge. The $250 prize was presented on behalf of VUSD and the World Wide Network of Learning. Completed during Fall 2017 in Studio903, Ms. Cornett's logo design will now be the new, official CTE logo for VUSD. More info on the competition can be found at www.ctevista.org.

First Responder Students - Service Learning ProjectOver 20 Career Technical Education First Responder students from the Vista Unified School District were able to job shadow emergency professionals from the Carlsbad Fire Department on April 27th. Students received first hand information on career requirements, advantages and disadvantages, and career outlook in San Diego. This knowledge will be used to further these students through their career pathway in saving lives.

Junior Achievement's Finance Park
WWNL partnered with the San Marcos Unified School District's Career Technical Education program by supporting 943 students to participate in Junior Achievement's Finance Park.
Vista Unified School District Senior Art ShowWWNL helped support the Vista Unified School District (VUSD) with their Senior Art Show. The Art Show included 275 entries in a variety of media by students from Mission Vista High School, Vista High School, Rancho Buena Vista High School, Army & Navy Academy, El Camino High School, Carlsbad High School and Oceanside High School.
The art show at the Vista Civic Center features work from over 130 seniors from four high schools in the Vista School District, including Major General Raymond Murray, Vista High School, Mission Vista High School, and Rancho Buena Vista High School. The show has been up from March 23rd and is closing on May 5th. The students participating include pupils from the CTE graphic design and photography programs, as well as the Visual Arts programs of sculpture, painting, AP and IB classes. It afforded an opportunity to showcase the great art coming out of Vista. In addition, City Council Members Joe Green, Amanda Rigby, John Franklin, John Aguilar, and numerous City employees were avid admirers of both the art and gelato. |

College & Career ExposThe San Diego Union Tribune covered WWNL's most recent College Career Expo that was held earlier this year in May. A blurb from the article stated, "Students from Rancho Buena Vista, Mission Vista and Vista high schools attended the event, which included a “Shark Tank” style session where they could grill representatives from area colleges on their programs and selling points.”
2015 College & Career Expo by WWNL – Special Guest Speaker – Tom Garcia, Senior Field Representative for CA Assembly member Rocky Chavez More than 80 San Marcos Unified School District high schoolers were presented with many career & college resources at the San Marcos College & Career Expo. The San Marcos Unified School District Career Technical Education (CTE) program engaged in activities that will enhance their career development. |

After School Soccer Program At Ocean Shores High SchoolWWNL worked with Ocean Shores High School in Oceanside, CA and sponsored a Youth Soccer Coach, WWNL appointed Jimmy Odong as coach of the successful program that lasted from January 2017 to April 2017.
In a matter of weeks the players went from not attending soccer practice and losing each game to being on time to each practice and coming in 2nd place at the high school championship held in April. Based on the initial success of the program, granted by WWNL, Ocean Shores High School has asked Coach Jimmy directly to come back and coach their football team and lead them to success. |
CTE Teacher Appreciation Program
WWNL helped create a teacher appreciation program with Career Technical Education (CTE) teachers at Vista Unified School District.
Virtual Enterprise
WWNL also provides opportunities for US high school students to participate in joint projects with students throughout the world. Our first joint project will be with Virtual Enterprise students in San Diego and students from Doga Schools in Istanbul, Turkey, through their tMBA business education program.
Lastly, we coordinated a trip for Doga’s #1 ranked student to tour San Diego, CA, which included a face to face meeting with the Mayor of Poway, a campus tour of San Diego State University, Vista High School, San Marcos High School, and the opportunity to present “Digital tMBA’ to a Virtual Enterprise class in Vista, CA. |
